Enjoy a fascinating journey to Kakheti wine region, in the eastern part of Georgia to enjoy the mountain scenery, picturesque villages, ancient temples and one-way life of the locals.
Discover Georgian medieval monuments, taste unique Georgian wines and get acquainted with the secrets of winemakers from Kisikhevi and Napareuli.
The beautiful road to the cradle of Georgian wine will take you through the Gombori pass. Stop in Telavi, the administrative and historic centre of the region, and visit the monument Erekli II.
Continue to the Schuchmann Château where you will enjoy a traditional lunch paired with the finest wines produced from famous Georgian grape varieties: Saperavi, Mtsvane, and Kisi.
After lunch, drive to Gremi, the 16th century royal residence and the capital of the Kakheti Kingdom.
Your final stop is at the private winery Twins Wine Cellar, in Napareuli village. The premises of the winery include a vast vineyard, a museum of traditional Georgian winemaking in qvevri, and facilities for various workshops.
Give baking Georgian bread puri a try, learn how to cook the national dessert churchkhela, or even participate in the harvesting and squeezing grapes for wine. (subject to seasonality)
AThe tour will end with a wine tasting of five different wines produced at Twins Winery according to Georgian traditional technology of winemaking in qvevri.
