Morning Cooking Class in Velo Grablje from Hvar

Experience an authentic cooking class in the village of Velo Grablje on the island of Hvar overlooking the Pakleni Islands and Vis.

Having met your host for the day, you will have a chat about and agree on a menu that takes you fancy, and then head to the local markets to shop for ingredients for your menu. Enjoy a wander through the markets taking in all the sights and smells and chat to some stall holders.

Once all your ingredients have been bought your host will take you to Velo Grablje where you will visit one of the "wild gardens" spread around the village to pick salad, rosemary, basil, young onions and anything else you may need to complete your meal. Your hosts will take this opportunity to show you the village which once thrived on lavender, and lovingly re-tell stories about the village houses that hold a thousand years of memories.

Next, you will prepare your meals in a traditional way alongside your host who will show you some traditional cooking tricks to make your food even more authentic.

Your traditional Velo Grablje meal will be accompanied by the finest Hvar wines and more stories of the island, especially those about Hvar and its distinguished 2400-year-old wine history. It boasts an array of indigenous grape varieties some of which are unique to Hvar.
