Florence lies in the heart of Tuscany, a region of world-renowned wines and honest food created from the abundance of local produce. This 4-day wine and food package is a teasing taster of the amazing wine tasting opportunities and mouth-watering food experiences available in Florence.
Day 1. Arrive Florence
On arrival in Florence make your way to your centrally located, 4-star hotel.
Day 2. Florentine street food tour
We recommend a light breakfast at your hotel, as this morning you will join a small group, guided street food tour of Florence with plenty of food tasting opportunities!
If you really want to immerse yourself in Florence, you can't just visit its museums and admire its architecture, you should also taste its cuisine! This half day walking tour is an introduction to the popular gastronomy along the streets of Florence.
As you stroll through the city with your knowledgeable local guide you will learn about Florentine cuisine, stopping on the way to meet local food artisans and sample traditional snacks. You can expect to taste Schiacciate (flat bread) with mixed cold cuts and the classic Lampredotto sandwich. And, of course, the typically Florentine Cantuccini and Vin Santo will be enjoyed at the Sant'Ambrogio Market.
Your afternoon is free at leisure.
Day 3. Chianti: villages and wine.
After breakfast at your hotel make your way to the meeting point for a small group, full day wine tasting tour in the iconic wine producing region of Chianti.
Before leaving Florence, make a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy a stunning view over the city.
Depart Florence and journey into the heart of the Chianti region along the famous Chiantigiana Road. You will travel through a classic Tuscan landscape characterized by gently rolling hills, vineyards & silver olive groves.
Your destination is the medieval village of San Gimignano: a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is famous for its 13 medieval towers which dominate the skyline. While visiting this fascinating village you will enjoy a first wine tasting.
Depart San Gimignano and drive along Tuscany's most beautiful country roads towards the second stage of the itinerary: Greve in Chianti. Stop in a local winery for a second wine tasting and a traditional light lunch with typical products. Along the way, there will be the opportunity to stop in other picturesque villages.
Return to Florence around 5pm
Day 4. Depart Florence
After breakfast, check out of your hotel.
