Tour Overview
Join this private tour to discover the amazing cuisine and culture of Gagauzia, located at 100km south of Chişinău, but a world apart from the cosmopolitan capital.
After a 2-hour drive, you will reach Comrat, the cultural heart of Gagauzia. Here you will learn that Gagauzians are the only representatives of Turkish origin that affiliated with the Eastern Orthodox Church. They migrated from Bulgaria and settled in Moldova in XIX century. Nowadays, Gagauzia is an autonomous region in the country.
By noon, you will experience the authentic Gagauz lifestyle in Congaz village. Gagauz Sofrasi guest house boasts a complex that reproduces the atmosphere and charm of traditional peasant houses: stoves, small wooden windows, shingle and traditional wool rugs. The local ethnographic museum offers genuine clothes for you to try on and make colourful pictures.
You will also take part in a cooking masterclass of Gozleme, a traditional Gagauz pastry. Once your culinary achievements are ready, you will taste flavoured homemade wines in the house wine cellar.
The tour will end with a delicious lunch, where you will enjoy local specialities from lamb, cheese and other delicacies.
