6-Day Castles and Wines of Romania Winerist Exclusive

Day 1: Airport pick-up and hotel delivery. Welcome dinner with authentic Romanian cuisine and wine.

Accommodation at boutique hotel in Bucharest.

Day 2: Visit inside The People's Palace and Bucharest walking tour. Drive to Sinaia, accommodation in boutique hotel.

Day3: In the morning, we will visit Peleș Castle –  the summer residence of the Royal Family –  built between 1873 and 1914. This Bavarian Neo-Renaissance style Castle was state of the art when it was finished, with an electric elevator and built-in vacuum system for cleaning. We take the extended tour that takes us deep into the castle, to see the music room, the pipe organ, library and Emperor Franz Joseph’s apartment, custom built for his visit in 1896.

After lunch, we drive to Bran Fortress, better known as Dracula’s Castle. This Medieval structure goes back to 1377, when the King of Hungary, Louis I of Anjou, granted the citizens of the city of Brașov the right to build a guard post that would also act as a customs point in the Bran passway. 500 years later, the drawings and stories of this amazing castle sparked Bram Stoker’s imagination and he placed Count Dracula inside it. 

Day 4: Drive to Biertan to visit the largest Fortified Saxon Church in Transylvania, a UNESCO Heritage Site from Medieval times. 

Lunch with goulash and wine pairing at Villa Vinea winery.

We will spend the evening in Sighisoara, the largest inhabited Medieval town in Europe. Traditional distilled fruit spirits tasting after dinner.

Day 5: Walking tour of Brasov, visit inside the Black Church (the largest Gothic monument in Eastern Europe). Lunch with traditional cuisine and wine from Moldova.

Drive to Dealu Mare, the main wine region of Romania. Wine tasting at boutique winery.

Day 6: Wine tasting with charcuterie platters at local vineyard. 

Drive to Bucharest, airport or hotel drop-off.
