Tour Overview
Day 1: Fraser Valley – Similkameen Valley - Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley
This wine tour begins in Fraser Valley, a thriving agriculture area with picturesque farms nestled in natural wilderness and fields. Your first stop is a visit to the historic Fort Langley & Village, a National Historic Site which played a major role in the development of British Columbia. Afterwards, explore the charming village of Fort Langley with its many antique stores and boutiques.
Next stop is at Bridal Falls. This 122m waterfall, the sixth largest in Canada, tumbles down the mountain’s face at Bridal Falls Provincial Park. On the way to the Okanagan Valley, you'll pass through The Similkameen. From June to October, the main road through town is filled with local fruit and vegetable stands. You will visit one of the fruit wineries in the area. Upon arrival in the Southern Okanagan Valley you will stay overnight at a lakefront resort in Osoyoos, Canada’s warmest region.
Day 2: Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley
Start the day with a visit to Nk’Mip Heritage Cultural Centre. Built into the hillside, this cultural centre features stunning views of the southern Okanagan Valley. Learn about the Okanagan First Nations’ habitation with on-site tours of a traditional village, performances and interactive displays. While there you also get an opportunity to visit North America’s first First Nation’s owned and operated winery, Nk’Mip Wine Cellars, for a tasting.
At lunch time, you will take a remarkable culinary journey through Canada’s only desert which begins at Osoyoos Lake and continues through Canada’s only pocket desert, organic fields and vineyards and ends at a biodynamic farm. A farm-to-table lunch will be waiting for you, including various fresh, locally-grown food paired with outstanding wines to nourish the senses.
Day 3: Naramata, Okanagan Valley
Before leaving the southern Okanagan, you will stop at Osoyoos Desert Centre, an extraordinary habitat and Canada’s only desert: one of North America’s most fragile and endangered ecosystems. A guided walk on an elevated boardwalk highlights the natural features. Next, you will visit Tinhorn Creek Winery (winner of 250+ international medals) for a wine tasting and lunch at their renowned restaurant Miradoro voted one of the best winery restaurants in the world by Wine Access magazine.
Continue north to the beautiful Naramata region where you will spend the afternoon and visit several boutique wineries for tastings. The vineyards are situated on the hills overlooking Okanagan Lake, a truly spectacular setting. Spend the night in a historic heritage inn in the charming village of Naramata situated by the lake and an impressive gourmet Winemaker’s Dinner will be served this evening.
Day 4: Kelowna, Okanagan Valley
Begin the day by driving north to tour some of the many wineries around the town of Kelowna. Tour and tasting at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, recognised as “world-class” by the International Food & Wine Magazine. Mission Hill Winery offers spectacular panoramic views of Okanagan Lake, awe-inspiring architecture and award-winning wines. Visit an artisan cheese maker, a family operated dairy producing various selections of premium goat cheeses and where we get to taste some delicious cheeses.
Enjoy a spectacular lunch, tour and tasting at Summerhill Pyramid Winery. This winery features organic winemaking at its best and is Canada’s largest certified organic vineyard. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy as you wish, and enjoy your overnight stay at a lakefront hotel in Kelowna.
Day 5: Harrison Hot Springs
After a leisurely morning you will head back east through the majestic mountain range and through the ranching region of Nicola Valley. Stop for lunch on your own in the town of Merritt; “The Country Music Capital of Canada”. Arrive at the final destination for the day; Harrison Hot Springs. With a spectacular lakeside setting, this town was settled in the 1850s and is known for its natural hot springs and mountain views. It is a peaceful getaway for relaxation and your lakefront resort in Harrison Hot Springs will provide just that.
Day 6: Vancouver
After breakfast, return to Vancouver.
