Discover the Kastela wine region and taste some of Croatia's finest wines on this 2-hour tour.
You will picked up from your accomodation and driven to the Kaštela wine region, an area rich in indigenous grape varieties where some of Croatia's finest wines are cultivated.
You willl visit Kaštela, birth place of Crljenak kaštelanski, an old, almost forgotten, Croatian grape variety which recently captured the interest of the wine-making public. The reason for this was it was discovered that Crljenak Kaštelanski and American Zinfandel have the same genetic profileand it was established that the two species are the same.
Kaštela is known as a place of rich culinary traditions, with an emphasis on the Mediterranean diet; lots of fish, vegetables, fruit, cakes, and meat dishes are of Kaštela tradition.
The tour's wine tasting takes place in a family owned winery in Kaštel Sućurac. You will have a unique opportunity to taste some wines made from grape varieties which are possible to find exclusively in Kaštela and learn about Zinfandel and other Dalmatian wines from a certified sommelier whilst enjoying some traditional Dalmatian food.
