Meet your local guide at 2pm in front of the tourist office of Reims centre train station and start your afternoon with a drive through the countryside.
First you will visit a family-run boutique winery. Tour the traditional press that is still in use today, and vat room as your guide details the traditional Champagne method with a concrete and visual approach. Enjoy several tastings of their own production and acquire tasting knowledge and expertise with these rare champagnes!
Drive through the famous Champagne Avenue in Epernay, capital of Champagne, where some of the most prestigious estates are based : Pol Roger, Perrier Jouët, Moët&Chandon, Boizel.
Appreciate a moment in the vineyards, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO World’s Heritage vines of Champagne and acquire knowledge of the particularities of the “terroir”.
Next, discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne. Visit the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.
Finish your afternoon with 3 glasses of Champagne in a small family winery where you will be able to taste and compare various “cuvées” and enjoy a pairing with regional snacks.
After an afternoon full of experiences and precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in front of the tourist office of Reims centre train station around 7pm.
