Tour Overview
There’s no better combination than good wine and cheese. Get acquainted with Hungarian wine, cheese and charcuterie on this 2-hour, small group tasting experience in Budapest, led by a local sommelier.
This sommelier-led tasting experience features a carefully curated selection of five great Hungarian wines, paired with a selection of Hungary’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie. The sommelier will give you an overview of Hungarian wine including the history, the major regions, the important varietals, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends. The final wine in the line up will be a glass of sweet Tokaj aszú wine, one of the world’s greatest sweet wines and an essential part of Hungary’s wine story.
We love focusing on indigenous Hungarian grape varietals and unique local styles, so you may taste wines which you’ve never heard of (and may not easily find elsewhere).
The cheese and charcuterie board is a simple and perfect complement to the wine selection, showcasing cheese and charcuterie that is sourced directly from the producers. You’ll taste things such as mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, grey beef sausage, and various styles of cheese.
