We recommend a light breakfast at your hotel, as this morning you will join a small group, guided street food tour of Palermo with plenty of food tasting opportunities!
During the morning you will visit two lively open air street markets and stop at some of the city’s historic sights, tasting typical local street food along the way.
One of the street markets you will visit has been run much in the same manner for centuries. It has strong Arab influences, resembling an eastern souk, and these influences are also evident in the products on sale.
As you stroll through the city with your knowledgeable local guide you will have the opportunity to taste the most authentic street food specialties and learn about their history and recipes. You can expect to taste arancina and sfincione, cazzilli fritters and the challenging pani ca’ meusa. A food tour would not be complete without sampling the famous cannoli with ricotta cream or the huge broscia col gelato.
This tour is also possible on a private basis. Contact us for pricing.
