The sun-soaked hill towns of central Italy offer what many consider to be the quintessential Italian experience.  You will be staying in a lovely apartment right in the heart of the Etruscan hill town of Cortona for 5 nights, experiencing firsthand the excellent, renowned wines, delicious dishes with centuries old traditions, and ingredients that are so genuine and fresh that all you need is a dash of olive oil to transform them into mouthwatering meals. 

The accommodation is located on the top floor of a historical building. This 3-bedroom / 2-bathroom property has spacious bedrooms that are airy and comfortable. There is a large kitchen that opens to a dining/sitting room, creating a wonderful atmosphere for sharing time together. You can enjoy eating a meal or having a glass of wine on the large, private terrace while soaking in the breathtaking views of the valley beyond. The apartment is equipped with AC, heating, wi-fi, dishwasher and washing machine. The superb central location is close to great restaurants, cafes and historical sites in town. 

Itinerary:

Day 1: On arrival in Cortona you will be greeted at the apartment for your check-in and given an orientation. 

Day 2: Head to the forest on the hills to forage for precious truffles with a local expert and his trusty truffle dog! After the hunt, you will visit his kitchen where his lovely wife will show you how to use the truffles in some traditional recipes, sampling together an amazing truffle-based lunch paired with local wine.

Day 3: Visit one of the most important wineries of the area located in the soft hills between Cortona and Montepulciano. You will enjoy a private tour of the winery and wine cellar. After the visit you will have the chance to taste their wines in an amazing lunch with wine pairing.

Day 4: You will become a true Italian, taking part in the most cherished of traditions, the Italian aperitivo! Settle in at a beautiful wine bar on the main square of Cortona, with local finger foods and a bottle of Prosecco. Enjoy the sunset, people watching and absorbing the fun atmosphere.

Day 5: This is a free day. You can choose to relax at the apartment or enjoy a variety of organised activities and excursions. You may wish to visit Tuscany's beautiful hill towns of Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza or explore the larger cities of Florence or Siena.

Day 6: Departure day. Check-out from the apartment.
