5 Day Luxury Cape Winelands Wine Tasting Package

For wine travellers the mesmerising, natural beauty of South Africa's wine producing regions is an experience like no other. This 5-day package journeys through the picturesque Cape Winelands region, visiting award-winning wine estates in Robertson, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, and sampling an exciting diversity of the region’s wines. 

Day 1. Arrive Cape Town
Upon arrival at Cape Town International airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Robertson – around 100 miles east of Cape Town. The Robertson Small Hotel prides itself on its tranquil picturesque sceneries from the property's simple, yet contemporary architecture. The rest of your day is at leisure. Dinner is included tonight at the hotel.

Day 2. Robertson Valley Wine Tasting
During the day you will enjoy tastings at three wineries. De Wetshof Estate - a premier Chardonnay House. This family estate combines viticultural and oenological practices with the latest technology, to create distinctive, top-quality wines. The Van Loveren Vineyards are situated on the banks of the Breede River. Spend some time in the beautiful gardens, soaking up the peace and tranquility and tasting their wines under the trees. No trip to Robertson is complete without a visit to the impressive Graham Beck Cellar. Graham Beck Wines is well known for its innovative architecture and spectacular scenery. 

A stop will also be made at Marbrin Olive Farm, a small family-run boutique olive farm, for olive oil tastings.  Enjoy lunch at the Four Cousins Restaurant and dinner this evening back at The Robertson Small Hotel.

Day 3. Gourmet Experience in Franschhoek 
Depart Robertson for a day exploring the Winelands from Robertson to Franschhoek. Enjoy a food and wine pairing experience at La Lude Estate.

Lunch will be at the award-winning Boschendal Wine Estate. The seasonally-changing menu celebrates the bountiful produce of Boschendal and the Franschhoek Wine Valley. Much of the fresh produce you’ll find on your plate is sustainably grown on the Boschendal Wine Farm. 

Continue your gourmet journey with High Tea at La Residence in Franschoek, a boutique hotel surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and plum orchards. Transfer on to your accommodation for the night: Mont Rochelle, a stunning 26-bedroom hotel and vineyard. Check in and relax before dinner in the hotel. 

Day 4. Stellenbosch Wine Tasting
After breakfast depart Franschhoek and drive to Stellenbosch for a full day of wine tasting including lunch. 

You will visit three vineyards. Keermont Vineyards is located between the Helderberg and Stellenbosch mountain ranges. This magical winery aims to create quality natural wines using less chemical fertilisers, fewer pesticides and to irrigate as little as possible. Oldenburg Vineyards produces small quantities of hand-crafted red and white wines from both Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. Family-owned and managed boutique winery, Mitre’s Edge, is nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain. It is in this beautiful setting that winemaker Lola Nicholls, assisted by husband Bernard, focuses on producing relatively smaller quantities of high-quality, award-winning wines.

Arrive Stellenbosch and check in to your hotel: the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa. Nestled in the foothills of the idyllic Jonkershoek Valley, Lanzerac is synonymous with old-world charm and rich Cape heritage. Relax and walk around the town of Stellenbosch before dinner in your hotel. 

Day 5. Depart Cape Town
You will be transferred to Cape Town International airport in time for your departure flight.
