This day tour to El Penedes leaves from Barcelona where you will meet your driver for the day. Set off from the centre of Barcelona and enjoy a relaxing 45-minute drive through Catalonian wine country.
Your destination is the famous winemaking region of El Penedès, best known for its production of Cava (sparkling wine).
El Penedès is one of the oldest wine-making regions in Europe and one of the most important wine-producing areas near Barcelona. It's the perfect day trip from Barcelona!
First stop of your tour will be at a family-run Cava cellar for a visit and Cava tasting.
This winery is well-known for its premium production of Cava. Enjoy a guided tour of its Cava cellar and descend to the dungeons where the Cava is kept for many years. Learn from your expert guide about wine production and the growing of their grapes. Taste 3 varieties of local Cavas paired with traditional cheeses and cold meats while enjoying great views of the Catalan countryside.
After your winery tour, it's time to continue to the next stop of the day in El Penedes.
Your driver will take you onwards for a visit to a family-owned organic winery. This family of winemakers have been pioneers in organically farmed wines since 1978. Their wine & Cava is made in the heart of the El Penedès wine region from 100% organic grapes harvested by hand and entirely vinified on the premises.
You will enjoy a guided visit to the Cava cellar and learn about the winery's history and its wine elaboration process. Your tour will be toasted with a wine tasting of three wines from their range of white, red and sparkling wines, accompanied by some Catalan snacks.
After your 2nd winery visit of the day, it will be time for the drive back to Barcelona where you will arrive around 3pm.
