Enjoy a few days discovering the vineyards of Rioja, immersing yourself in the regional cuisine and tasting the best wines of the area with this 4-day package.
You will be staying at Hotel Viura. Set in the pretty village of Villabuena de Alava, this unique contemporary-style hotel is surrounded by the vineyards of Rioja. The superb facilities include a top-class restaurant serving Riojan and Basque cuisine and a spa with a 16th century thermal cave.
The package includes visits to two of the most significant wineries in the region – Luis Cañas and Marqués de Riscal. You will discover two diverse wineries: Luis Cañas is a 150-year-old winery and a symbol of tradition; the avant-garde Marqués de Riscal uses the latest technology in winemaking techniques. Both winery visits include tastings accompanied with samples of local products.
For lunch, it is highly recommended to dine at the exquisite Marqués de Riscal restaurant and a reservation will be made for you. There will also be time between visits to take a walk around the medieval walled town of Laguardia.
When you are not drinking wine and relaxing in the hotel, you can also tour the area by bike, take advantage of its many hiking routes and visit the historic town of Haro. Get in touch here for a bespoke quotation.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Check-in at the hotel.
Day 2: Visit to Luis Cañas winery in the morning and enjoy a walk around the medieval town of Laguardia. Visit to Marqués de Riscal winery and lunch. A reservation will be made for you (meals are not included in the cost).
Day 3: We recommend exploring the Haro neighbourhood
Day 4: Check-out.
