The family-run Caminhos Cruzados winery is an architectural masterpiece located in Quinta da Teixuga, right in the heart of Dão. With about 40 hectares of vineyard, involving a modern winery with the ancient passion for Dão wine.

About the winery

Visiting Caminhos Cruzados means knowing their history, their dreams and what they do best - their wines. Visitors can discover the cellar, with facilities that combine the tradition of wine-growing practices, maintaining the authenticity of winemaking as well as the modernity and uniqueness of the construction, very much focused on the practice of wine tourism.

Caminhos Cruzados was the initiative of the Santos family, born in Nelas, and determined to return to its origins to invest in an ancient passion, Dão wine. The connection to wine was born in the older generations, but passed on to the young Lígia and Francisca who, from an early age, made the harvests with family and friends, gathering everyone in a small shop at home, giving rise to a homemade wine.

It was in 2012 that Paulo Santos decided to give life to this tradition and created a family business, run by Lígia Santos who exchanged Lisbon and law for wine.

Caminhos Cruzados wines are made from grapes of their own production and from selected producers, recognised for their quality and excellence of grape varieties authentic to the Dão region.

The company's philosophy is based on the production of quality wines, with a strand of tradition allied to modernism and constant differentiation on the market. It is in this context that the wines of Caminhos Cruzados emerge as "The New Dão".

The name comes from the familiar thought that life is not always made by straight paths and that, on the contrary, there are more atypical paths that lead us to incredible places. The motto is that every time two paths intersect, something fantastic can happen, as is currently the case with family members, with different formations and experiences, whose paths intersect in the project.

Gastronomic activity consisting of a Winery tour followed by lunch. The tastings are accompanied by the perfect food pairing with local cuisine.

Ludic activity where the visitor will be able to create and bottle their own wine, lotting and creating samples in order to achieve the wine profile that they most identify with. At the end, you’ll be able to take the bottle with you to share with your family or friends.

This experience is focused on all the innocence and transparency of the conviviality, exalted by the romantic environment of the viticultural context combined with the gastronomic and wine pleasure. The visit includes the tasting of two wines, a picnic basket with a Titular wine bottle, a water bottle, jams, regional bread, sausages, cheese and fruit.
