Why Visit Argentina?

To truly understand Argentina, a wine tour of its wine regions is a must. Whether it's a wine-tasting tour across Mendoza, sipping wine in the vineyards as you gaze upon the Andes or tasting wines in Salta grown from some of the highest altitude vineyards in the world. This wine country offers wine lovers so many incredible experiences to be had.

From the northern region of Cafayate, Mendoza and Uco Valley all the way to La Pampa and Patagonia - you will find unique wines and wine experiences to be had with grapes that are not just growing, but thriving in their mountainous environments. Head over to the Argentine wine region of Salta and find the Torrontés grape, a grape found in no other country in the world. Taste Torrontés - an aromatic white wine, with a smooth finish.

There are many winery and wine tasting tours you can take in Argentina, such as a scenic wine tour by bike or Asado cooking class or a private lunch and tour of the vineyards by the winemakers themselves. The food and wines of Argentina are something the locals have every right to unashamedly boast about, alongside your tastings, why not also pair mouthwatering empanadas, asado and tamales to get a feel for their flavoursome traditional cuisine?

After sipping wine into the evening and savouring the taste of this magnetic country, explore the many milongas (tango dance clubs). Don’t allow inexperience to hold you back, there are plenty of classes you can attend with teachers willing to show you the steps along with the passionate energy that goes into this world-renowned dance!

The best time to visit Argentina is during the spring months of October and November , and the autumn months of March, April and May . Arriving in Argentina during these seasons means getting to see the vineyards in full bloom in the springtime or in a golden autumnal glow in the fall. In addition to that, the weather is glorious and there is an abundance of both winery and outdoor activities.

If you want to see a lot of Argentina - the 8th largest country in the world, we recommend staying 10 - 14 days . There are plenty of full-day and multi-day tours you can book to see a lot of Argentina and its wine regions in an organised way. Start your day with a tango class in Buenos Aires and end up on a horse riding wine tour of Mendoza. Spend the full day on an Authentic Boutique Winery Tour of Maipu and Lujan de Cuyo , and spend the next day on a full-day Bariloche Lakes, Mountains and Food Tour , where you'll get to make the most out of Patagonia and its remarkable cuisine.  Explore the spectacular Iguazu Falls on day 4 or 5 and visit Jujuy to see the geological wonder - Cerro de Los Siete Colores (the Hill of the Seven Colours). Fortunately, Argentina is quite well connected with airports which serve many regions and destinations. Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Ezeiza (EZE) is the largest airport in the country and is situated 32 km from the city centre of Buenos Aires. Those travelling to Argentine Patagonia can alight here too, but if you're travelling to Chilean Patagonia, it's best to fly into Santiago. For those whose end destination is Salta, the airport you'll most likely be flying into is Salta Martin Miguel de Guemes International,  which is situated 7 km south-west of Salta's city centre. The Spanish name for the airport is Aeropuerto Internacional de Salta "Martin Miguel de Güemes.
