Eat your way across Buenos Aires in this gourmet adventure of flavors. Discover the finest Argentine dishes, eat like a local and even learn some tips during this mouth-watering 3-day tour.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet and greet at the airport (or port) and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to relax. Take advantage of this time and go to explore traditional cafes of Buenos Aires.
Day 2: Today you’ll get to know the main attractions of this vibrant city of Buenos Aires. You will take a city tour through the classic neighborhoods of La Boca, with its Caminito street full of colorful houses, you will get to know the main square, Mayo Square, surrounded by the cathedral and the Pink House (Government house), the elegant neighborhood of Recoleta for which Buenos Aires is called the “Paris of South America” and the beautiful Palermo with its palaces.
During the city tour you will take a Parrilla Tour, your first encounter with local gastronomy. Parrillas are Argentine restaurants offer the most traditional cuisine, and you will discover hole-in-the wall restaurants where the locals go, learn about Argentina’s culture and cuisine, and meet others during the relaxed and social tour.
Your Parrilla Tour includes a walking tour of 3 different authentic local restaurants, tasting of traditional foods at each stop and excellent Argentine wine, a visit to one of the best artisanal “heladerias” (ice cream shops) in the city
In the evening, you will enjoy dinner in one of the most traditional Tango Houses of Buenos Aires. Before the dinner you will have a one hour Tango lesson with one of the dancers of the venue who will teach you some Tango steps.
Day 3: Visit a typical Argentine estancia, El Ombú, in San Antonio de Areco, one of the oldest towns in Argentina. This traditional town invites you to return to the 18th century with its narrow colonial streets, church, bars and museums. Feast on a banquet of empanadas and a great parrillada with an excellent Argentine wine.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time before dining at a Signature Cuisine restaurant - the dream of any lover of good cooking.
Your last gastronomic experience is designed to give you an introduction to the best of Argentine cuisine and culture. This is not a cooking class, but a fun and unique experience, where you will meet and dine with people from all over the world.
Choose from the available gourmet fillings and create your own empanada learning the traditional ‘repulgue’ technique. Later, use your imagination in Argentina’s first and only novelty empanada competition. Alongside your creations, enjoy grilled provoleta cheese with sliced chorizo sausage, and homemade chimichurri.
Enjoy what many are claiming to be the very best steak in Argentina, cooked to order and accompanied with velvety mash potatoes and oven roasted vegetables. The top of the line thick cut fillet steaks have a unique 24-hour preparation method. Vegetarian, pescetarian and celiac options are available on request.
One Torrontes and two distinct Malbec wines from boutique wineries in Mendoza will complement your food. Learn about and enjoy unlimited wine throughout the dinner. White wine is also available on request. To upgrade your wine experience, join a Wine Cocktail Mixology and Aroma Class before dinner.
Learn how to communicate like a true argentine with a classic hand gesture class.
For dessert make your own alfajores, Argentina’s national sweet, where biscuits, dulce de leche, melted chocolate fondue and coconut shavings combine to delight the senses. Finally, get taught about the history and etiquette of mate, Argentina’s national pastime, and prepare it from scratch among yourselves.
Day 4: You’ll have the morning at leisure and you’ll be transferred to the airport.
