Escape to Tuscany, a land of rolling hills lined with cypress trees, full of culture, art and beauty, as well as one of the most amazing food and wine destinations in the world with this 8-day tour.
Enjoy excellent, renowned wines, delicious dishes with centuries old traditions. Immerse yourself in this fairy tale, discovering the areas of Tuscany that are best suited to the cultivation of grapes. Exploring the Chianti region, passing through Montalcino and crossing the hills between Cortona and Montepulciano, you will visit wineries, sample their products and learn what makes these places so unique for the production of great wine.
You will be staying in a beautiful villa located in the middle of an astonishing countryside. At the same time you will be just a short 15 minute drive from one of the most amazing hill towns of Italy, Cortona, that not by chance inspired the book "Under the Tuscan Sun". A spectacular view of the valley opens up from the front garden of the villa and will instantly give you a sense of peace and calm from the stress of everyday life. There is a lot of room to explore in the spacious, green gardens and enjoy hanging out by the pool, with the Tuscan landscape as the backdrop.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer on your own and arrival at the villa to settle in. Meet your guide for check-in and have a brief introduction of the week's itinerary and schedule. A welcome dinner will be served in your villa with a private chef. Three bottles of fine local wine included.
Day 2: This is a free day, you can choose to relax at the villa or a variety of organised activities and excursions can be set up for you if you prefer. You can visit beautiful hill towns like Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto or larger cities like Florence or Siena.
Day 3: Discover the spectacular Chianti region, one of the most well known areas in the world for wine production. You will visit two wonderful wineries to learn about the wine and of course sample it! Lunch will be in one of the wineries.
Day 4: Drive along the hills of Cortona and Montepulciano to discover another part of Tuscany that produces great wine. The area is like a younger sibling to the top regions of Chianti and Montalcino, but it is growing into something big. Visit two wineries for tours and tastings. Enjoy a delicious meal with wine pairing for lunch.
Day 5: This is a free day, you can choose to relax at the villa or enjoy a variety of organised activities and excursions, or visit beautiful hill towns like Cortona, Montepulciano, Pisa or larger cities like Florence or Siena.
Day 6: Visit the Montalcino area, famous for Brunello, one of the best red wines in the world. Learn why this wine is so unique and precious. Visit two wineries and enjoy lunch in the winery while savoring a great Brunello.
Day 7: The morning and early afternoon are free. At 5pm you will enjoy a hands-on cooking class at your villa, with dinner and wine pairing presented by a sommellier.
Day 8: Departure day. Check-out of the villa.
