Winery Overview
Discover Domaine de Chevalier, a Grand Cru Classé in Pessac-Léognan, the Graves capital, a few kilometres from Bordeaux.
In 1983, the estate was purchased by the Bernard family, number one in France on the spirits market and a major négociant of premium Bordeaux wines.
It has been run ever since by Olivier Bernard. He perpetuates the spirit of balance and the constant drive for perfection which, over the last 130 years, have been the hallmark of this outstanding winery.
Today, from the secret garden protected by the vast, surrounding forest, the estate has become a remarkably open haven where visitors, keen to imbue themselves with the spirit of the Graves region.
The entire estate covers one hundred hectares, 45 of which are under vine: 40 of these are devoted to producing red wine and 5 to white wine.
Domaine de Chevalier is known for both red and white Bordeaux and for some of the finest winemaking in the region. The red Domaine de Chevalier, the flagship of the Pessac Léognan appellation, belongs to the elite of the great classified growths of Bordeaux. The white Domaine de Chevalier, with the unusual feature of being remarkably well suited for keeping, is recognised as one of the world’s finest dry white wines.
