Tour Overview
Taking advantage of your stay in Galicia, why not also explore one of the most attractive and interesting areas of northern Portugal, which is just a couple of hours away?
This private tour will take you to the most emblematic sites of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia where the famous Porto wines are made, aged, and stored. We will have a boat ride along the Douro and then visit one of the emblematic Porto Wine cellars, that together with the local gastronomy, at the local fish restaurants is an experience to be remembered.
From Porto, you will be driven to Peso da Regua in the heart of the Douro Valley. Enjoy a scenic train ride that will take you upriver to Pinhao and then return again by train to Peso da Regua, where you will enjoy a nice Portuguese dinner. Several choices of hotel accommodation for you to choose from are available.
The Douro Valley is where the Porto wines are actually produced, as well as regular ones, which you'll taste while enjoying spectacular views of this unique part of the world.
The following day you will enjoy the stunning scenery and visit two Quintas (wineries), eat a typical Portuguese lunch, and take a Ravelo boat on the river to head back to Santiago, stopping, on the way to visit the emblematic Mateus Palace.
