Tour Overview
Willamette Valley is Oregon’s main wine region. Stretching over 150 miles from north to south, it’s home to more than 500 wineries. This 3-day package from Portland is an immersive introduction to the wine and the cuisine of the region.
Day 1. Arrive Portland, Willamette Valley Culinary Experience.
Once landing in Portland, Oregon, your private guide will pick you up from the airport or hotel and escort you 45 minutes south to the Willamette Valley. You'll check into your wine country accomodation. Standard package includes 3 star accomodation, upgrade avaialble for 4 star option at The Allison Inn & Spa.
This evening enjoy an interactive culinary experience for dinner. Roll up your sleeves for an immersive on-farm cooking class where you'll learn to prepare a gourmet meals using local seasonal ingredients. During this 3 hour class you'll prepare a multi-course menu highlighting the bounty of produce from the Willamette Valley. Enjoy nibbles and wine along the way before digging into your culinary creation.
Day 2. Willamette Valley Wine Tasting Tour
The Willamette Valley is home to over 500 tasting rooms and vineyards and known for its excellent pinot noir. Wineries range from the intimate setting of a rustic boutique property to a large scale elegant tasting room with commanding panoramic views. Your private guide will orient you to the region and its unique characteristics with visits and tastings at three iconic local wineries including a picnic lunch.
Enjoy the free time in the afternoon by exploring the boutiques in downtown McMinnville or relaxing with a spa service at The Allison.
Upgrade your wine tour by adding in an exclusive activity such a helicopter flightseeing, elevated wine pairing lunch horseback riding through the vineyards, kayaking or biking.
Day 3. Columbia River Gorge, Depart Portland
After check out at the hotel it's time to go back to Portland. Your guide will pick you up and escort you 1 hour north to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, home to the highest concentration of waterfalls in North America, including the famous Multnomah Falls. The drive brings you along the oldest official “scenic highway” in the US, with stops for a few short hikes to see the sweeping viewpoints and flowing falls.
On arrival in Portland, enjoy lunch at a neighborhood food cart pod before being transferred to your hotel or to the Portland Airport for departure.
