Winery Overview
Discover Château du Taillan, a family-run estate, situated at the gateway of the Médoc area. This classical château dates back to the XVIII century, and its unique underground cellars are now listed as a French National Heritage Site of France.
Château du Taillan is one of the most attractive vineyards in the Gironde. Nowadays, the current owners are 5 sisters. They are the 5th generation of the long-established Cruse family, who has owned the property since it was acquired by Henri Cruse in 1896.
The Château's park is a perfect place to go for a stroll. It contains centuries old trees and is home to a rare pink marble altarpiece (another listed building).
Château du Taillan is a Cru Bourgeois from Haut-Médoc appellation since 1932. It produces a red wine with a traditional blend of Merlot, Caberne Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
The Château du Taillan vineyard of 30 hectares produces a Cru Bourgeois red wine, as well as a famous white wine. Very few Médoc vineyards produce a white wine, which makes La Dame Blanche a rare product.
The Cruse family and its team welcome you to visit the chateau and the cellars, stroll in the vineyards, learn about winemaking and taste their amazing wines paired with dry fruits, chocolate and cheese.
Please note: Tours and visits run daily from 10am to 6pm daily and Sundays only upon reservation.
