In the heart of the Savennières hills, part of a world heritage site and a bird refuge, this remarkable site is both a conservation area for rare plants from the banks of the Loire and one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Loire valley.

The Chateau des Vaults, with its concerts, literature evenings, modern sculpture exhibitions and many other events involving nature and our way of life, is a popular destination for wine and art lovers.

Visitors will learn to appreciate how each element of the chateau's terroir, down to the smallest grain of stone, contributes to the world-class quality of Savennières. Here wine tourists can discover the beautiful biodiversity of the Loire Valley through a self-guided tour. At the end of the tour, children will be offered grape juice, while adults will enjoy a formal tasting of our Savennières wines.

Evelyne de Pontbriand, Domaine du Closel family estate owner, will share with passion and humor, her unique experience as a woman vineyard manager, with you. After an international life she took over the Domaine in 2001 and has developed a deep knowledge in vine and wine history, natural farming and winemaking. You will enjoy learning about biodynamic farming, soil life, terroir, insects, indigenous yeast, climate change, economic models, chenin blanc history etc, etc while walking in the world heritage landscape of Savennières with her. After this hour of good exercise you will enjoy sitting in the chateau beautiful library, salon or dining room for an exclusive tasting of our Savennières wines: outstanding chenin blancs with the most refined cheeses.
