For the last 10 years Xavier and Nicole Rolet have worked to create an impressive winery and consider it to be a shared project with anyone who visits. Their motto, “Non mihi, non tibi, sed nobis” means “Not mine, not yours, but ours” which signifies their enthusiasm in sharing their wines with the world.

Xavier and Nicole have a deep appreciation of nature, culture, wine and gastronomy which has helped them in creating the best wine experience for visiting guests. Alongside Xavier’s sister and brother-in-law, the Rolets have proudly built a beautiful family-run winery which welcomes guests all year round.

Using state-of-the-art production methods the Rolets are able to produce wines of the highest standards. Thanks to extensive research alongside industry experts and renowned oenologists the wines available at Chêne Bleu will leave you impressed.

Chêne Bleu are in the process of phasing in biodynamic wine production principles, so as to create chemical-free wines and environmentally-friendly products.

There are several dining options within the property, so savour the delicious French cuisine offered. The dining area presents incredible Provencal dishes made only of the freshest seasonal ingredients. There is also an outdoor terrace which offers stunning panoramic views - the perfect area for a light lunch or barbeque.

If you like what you taste, you can also try your hand at a cooking lesson in Chêne Bleu’s impressive kitchen. Learn to cook authentic French dishes and wow your friends and family back home.

This is the winery to visit if you are a French wine enthusiast. Wine tourists can enjoy guided tours, tastings and exciting wine experiences when visiting.

The winery is just a 45 minute drive from Avignon, and also offers luxury accommodation to any visiting wine lovers, which makes it the perfect base for discovering Provence and French wines.

Wine Visitors can enjoy free vineyard and cellar tours along with the complete tasting of 6 critically-acclaimed wines everyday during opening hours. Several lunch options prepared by the on-site chef Michel, who specialises in ethical, sustainable, organic Mediterranean cuisine, using ingredients from the La Verrière gardens and local producers are also available.

Please note: The winery organises several events throughout the summer period at the vineyard! Apéro Bleu takes place every Wednesday evening from 5-8:30pm, and features specially-prepared aperitif platters prepared by chef Michel to share with friends or family while watching the sun set over the Provençal countryside. Wine by the glass or bottle sold separately.

Discover Chêne Bleu’s purist philosophy on a tour of our organic and biodynamic vineyard practices, apiary, medieval orchard, composting, bamboo water-filtering reservoir, and state-of-the-art winery - all created to protect Nature at our UNESCO biosphere site. Your visit will be followed by a gourmet tasting of our entire range of wines, or tailor-made to your preference.

Learn to taste and talk about wine like a pro. A class designed to give enthusiasts using the internationally recognised WSET systematic method to assess, taste and compare wines and increase your knowledge and enjoyment of wine. Suitable for any level, from novice to wine connoisseur.

Duration: 1 hour

A workshop created to initiate enthusiasts to the reasoning, science and artistry that underpin the blending of fine wine. Are you more scientific or more empirical in your approach? You will be given all the graduated cylinders and measuring beakers to experiment and create your favorite blend. If you come with a group you can also work as a team or compete for best results in a blind tasting. A serious learning experience but a fun team building activity.

This bespoke experience is tailor-made to suit your requirements, as well as to accommodate the season and the availability of Chêne Bleu's expert Vintner and Winemaker. Chêne Bleu's Team will take you under their wing and into the vineyard and winery for a meaningful day that combines theory and practice, calibrated to meet your interests.

Educational overview of vineyard work ahead of the site visit with the Caveau team.
Apply your knowledge in the vineyard, with a clip-board and a trowel, identify soil and vine characteristics of different plots and gather samples with Bénédicte or the team (based on availability).
Depending on the season, learn about pruning, green harvesting, canopy management, water-stress management, etc, organic and biodynamic practices, cover-crop and biodiversity management.
In the Fall, learn to harvest your own grapes and press them in the manual crusher then stamp the grapes by foot.
Initiation to winemaking, followed by hands-on activity with Jean-Louis or Hugo and their team (depending on availability and season).
With a pipette, extract unfinished wines from the barrels or tanks.
Create and name your own blend, and if you wish, compete with others in your group for the best blend.
Chêne Bleu's team will rate your wines and reward the winners with a special prize.
Enjoy your blends with a specially-prepared meal by Chef Victor.
