Winery Overview

Discover Giovanni Rosso, a small, family-owned producer in the heart of the Barolo commune of Serralunga d'Alba.

The winery only makes red wines, and is known worldwide for the production of its exclusive Barolo, using grapes from its magnificent vineyards.

The story began in the early years of the XIX century, when the family acquired the first vineyard plot. Today Giovanni Rosso wines are enjoyed in the finest restaurants and hotels around the globe and can be found on the shelves of the most exclusive wine merchants.

The recently built winery, where tradition, new technologies and design live together, is immersed in the Langhe landscape, a UNESCO Heritage Site. This territory is rich in traditions to be discovered and unforgettable experiences waiting to be enjoyed.

Wine lovers visiting the winery can enjoy a variety of wine experiences, walk and touch the soil of the vineyards, explore the terroir and its tradition, and taste wines from the barrel. The winery also offers private helicopter tours over the Barolo area, hiking tours, picnics, hot air balloon rides and truffle hunting.

From the fabulous Crus to the Winery, offer you the opportunity to discover and learn more about the legendary Barolo wine making. The visit of the Winery includes the show of the winemaking area and ageing room, with the description of each single production process. During the tasting with an enologist and sommelier you will have the chance to try the wines directly from barrels and from bottles, seated.

Before the wine tasting and visit of the winery, the sommelier will take you for a ride in a 4WD Mercedes or Land Rover to discover the top crus Cerretta, Serra and the legendary Vignarionda located in Serralunga d’Alba.

You will have the opportunity to discover the history and peculiarities of the terroir and enjoy the unique landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during a walk among the rows of these vineyards.

Giovanni Rosso owns a private Helipad inside his estate, and collaborates with several prestigious helicopter companies.

Duration: 20 min

30 minutes hike in the top Crus Vignarionda and Serra and to learn about the vineyards and the territory.

At the end you will enjoy a picnic with a suggestive view on the Castle of Serralunga d’Alba and the surrounding vineyards.

An unforgettable tasting on board of a hot air balloon flying over a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The balloon will take off from Barolo and will slowly fly over the suggestive hills of Langa, shaped by centuries of vine cultivation and dominated by medieval castles.

A Giovanni Rosso’s sommelier will accompany you during the flight and will reveal historical moments of the terroir, Giovanni Rosso’s philosophy and production methods of the wine you will taste: two award-winning top cru Barolo wines and a Langhe Nebbiolo, accompanied by a platter of cold cuts and cheese. You can also choose to do the tasting on a lawn after the hot air balloon landing.

A chef with experience in best quoted restaurants of the area, will cook especially for the guests of the Winery. The lunch can be served in the cellar between the barrels or in the professional kitchen with the view on vineyards in an exclusive atmosphere.
