Borgo Casa al Vento

Borgo Casa al Vento winery is located in the heart of Chianti, few miles away from Siena in the beautiful district of Gaiole in Chianti, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and wood.

The cellar is a real gem of rural architecture: set into the side of the hill, it is the demonstration of how man can bend nature to his necessity without brutality but with respect for the landscape and the environment.

The cellar has been equipped with modern technology in order to work in the best way with the biological grapes coming from the estate’s vineyards, maintaining totally the organolectic characteristics.

The heart of the cellar is the fermentation room constituted of stainless steel fermentation vats with computerized temperature control linked to a central server. This way every vat can be programmed separately at the desired temperature so that the vinification takes place respecting rules which have been acquired by experience over the years.

The “barricaia”,  built underground in stone with the typical vaulted ceilings, contains the small oak barrels made of first quality. The room is air conditioned and two humidifiers maintain a constant level of humidity by vaporising water.

The winery also offers luxury accommodation to any visiting wine lover, making it the perfect base to exploring Chianti. Guests can let themselved become intoxicated by the unique wine of Casa al Vento and discover its hidden secrets while listening to the sound of silence. 

Casa al Vento's wine is passion and tradition. Visiting guests can tour the boutique-style vineyard and winery, observe the vineyards, learn about the production process, walk through the cantina and bottling areas, enjoy wine tastings of 3 wines or olive oil.
