Full-Day Private Organic Wine Tour from Bordeaux

This full-day private organic wine tour of Bordeaux will be lead by your certified wine guide Frederic. With a deep passion for wine, he is the son of a wine grower, has more than 20 years of experience in the world of wine and knows many of the local winemakers personally. There could be no better guide for your private tour of Bordeaux!    

Having met Frederic depart Bordeaux for the right bank appellations which include Bordeaux AOC such as Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, and the little-known Canon Fronsac.  

Your first stop on the wine tour will be at Château Gaby in the Canon Fronsac appellation. Nestled on a hilltop facing the river Dordogne, this stunning château has a long history of winemaking, with the first vines planted here in the 1600’s. In 2014, Château Gaby embarked on a process to convert to organic agriculture. Only natural, organic products are used to treat the vines; most work in the vines is carried out by hand; sulphur use is avoided in the winery as much as possible. Soak up the panoramic views as you taste Gaby’s award-winning organic Bordeaux reds.

Continue on your tour to Saint-Émilion where you will visit Château Coutet, a family run Grand Cru vineyard that has been in the Beaulieu family for over 400 years. The winery embraces green technology, all the classic work is done manually, and no chemical treatment has ever been used on the vines. As a result, Coutet obtained organic certification in 2012. Enjoy a tour and tasting of their organic wines.  

Then it is time for lunch which will be at Chai Pascal in Saint-Émilion – a popular bistro with local winemakers. As you enjoy a two-course meal of local Bordeaux specialities you will be able to ask Frederic any questions you may have about Bordeaux vineyards, the classifications and AOC wine regulations.

Your final organic wine tasting of the day will be at an organic winery in the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation, such as Clos Puy Arnaud, Château Beynat, Château Des Rochers or Château Franc La Fleur. This picturesque region predominantly produces well-balanced, Merlot-based red wines.
