Gourmet Overnight Hideaway Package in Swedish Lapland

Nestled in Liehittäja, a small village in the Tornedalen region of Swedish Lapland lies Huuva Hideaway. Set amidst fir trees, by Lake Liehittäjäjärvi, once you reach this magical place, you may not want to leave. It's the type of place where you arrive as a guest, but leave as part of the family, even if you only stay for one night. It's a place where you can get a taste of the arctic lifestyle and an authentic look at the Sami way of life, whilst sampling some of nature's best produce and listening to stories that have been passed down from generation to generation of Huuvas.

Once you arrive, you'll meet your guide and chef who will share the experience with you. You'll forage for seasonal goodies from nature's pantry and assist with the cooking in the outdoor restaurant. As you eat, learn more about nature and the Sámi and Tornedalian food culture. Together with the Huuva Hideaway family, you will create a memorable meal in the middle of the forest in the old Sámi Reindeer Corral. You'll leave with new food inspiration and ideas to bring home to your own table.

Once you've enjoyed your afternoon, it's time to check in to Hideaway House, also known as the Ajtta Lodge. Located in the heart of the woodland, the nature theme continues as the house has an inside out feel. You'll find the recently refurbished, comfortable two-storey old log house to be the perfect spot to enjoy the surroundings and continue your Sami experience. The space is decorated with a warm mix of local tradition, Sámi artisan crafts and modern Nordic design, complete with a cosy fireplace. The space comfortably sleeps a couple of family of four with a double bed and two single beds included.  

Please note: It's important to dress appropriately for the season, particularly in Swedish Lapland where winters are cold and they can last between November and April.
