Tour Overview
This unique food experience embraces Sweden’s bountiful natural produce and offers a taste of the Arctic lifestyle in the heart of Swedish Lapland.
Nestled in Liehittäjä, a small village in the Tornedalen region of Swedish Lapland lies Huuva Hideaway. Set amidst fir trees, by Lake Liehittäjäjärvi, once you reach this magical place, you may not want to leave. It's the type of place where you arrive as a guest, but leave as part of the family, even if you only stay for an hour or two. It's a place where you can get a taste of the arctic lifestyle and an authentic look at the Sami way of life, whilst sampling some of the best, natural food to be found and listening to stories that have been passed down from generation to generation of Huuvas.
Together with guide and chef you will forage and pick goodies in season from nature's pantry, help out and cook along at the outdoor restaurant, set and decorate the table, eat and learn more about nature and the Sámi and Tornedalian food culture. Together with the Huuva Hideaway family, you will create a memorable meal in the middle of the forest in the old Sámi Reindeer Corral. You'll leave with new food inspiration and ideas to bring home to your own table.
Please note: It's important to dress appropriately for the season, particularly in Swedish Lapland where winters are cold and they can last between November and April.
