Tour Overview
Spend a wonderful morning in the beautiful Bay of Arcachon. Visit an oyster farm and taste fresh oysters. Climb the Pilat Dune, the tallest sand dune in Europe and see the incredible views of from its summit of the ‘Landes’ forest.
Arcachon Bay is located just 45 minutes from Bordeaux. Its 1500 hectares are fed by the Atlantic Ocean forming a lagoon-coloured inland sea which is bordered on one side by a fine sand dune reaching 104 metres above sea level.
Your Arcachon Bay Morning Itinerary
8.30 am: Meet your friendly guide for the morning in the centre of Bordeaux and set off for your drive towards Arcachon.
10 am: Arriving in Arachon Bay, climb the Pilat Dune and enjoy amazing views over the ocean and the Bay of Arcachon with a glass of wine!
11 am: Drive through the Pinewood Forest, a popular holiday home area for French families to spend their summer holidays.
11.30 am: Arrive at an authentic oyster farm and enjoy an oyster tasting with a glass of white wine. You'll sample 6 oysters per person, including 3-4 different varieties depending on the local produce. Arcachon is home to the traditional culture of oysters!
12:30 pm: After a morning filled with fresh, Atlantic air, the taste of fresh oyster and local wine, it will be time to head back to Bordeaux.
1.15 pm: Your guide will drop you off back in the centre of the city.
